FAQ - questions? we’ve got answers.

What are eyelash extensions?

They are individual or multiple extensions attached to one individual natural lash. Classic lash extensions are one individual lash attached to your natural lash while Volume lashes are from 3-6 individual extensions attached to one lash. Volume lashes give a full fluffy look while classic have more of a natural look.

How long do extensions last?

It depends on the clients natural growth cycle, use of skincare products and the overall care given that will influence how long the extensions remain in place. We recommend coming in every 2-4 weeks for a fill in.

Do extensions damage natural lashes?

When applied properly they are perfectly safe and don’t cause damage to your natural lashes. The extension applied to your lashes will grow out naturally as your own lash begins the shedding process. The eyelash adhesive is formulated to form a solid bond, specifically designed for human lashes.

How should I prepare for my eyelash extension appointment?
Come with clean, makeup free lashes! Avoid oil based makeup remover when cleansing your lashes prior to your appt. Plan to set aside 2-3 hours for your appt. If you have a hard time staying still feel free to bring headphones to listen to a music or a podcast!

What precautions can I take to maintain my eyelash extensions?

Follow all the after instructions your technician recommends. Avoid any products with oil, excessive touching/rubbing of your lashes and excessive amounts of mascara. We also recommend keeping your lash line and extensions clean to avoid build up of makeup or excessive oil. We recommend using a lash specific cleanser.

What are the lashes made of and what brand are they?

We use Borboleta lashes and adhesive. The lashes are faux mink. They are made up of unique synthetic yarn fibers which make them super soft and light. The extensions are a deep matte black.

Are the products vegan/cruelty free?

All of our products are 100% cruelty free and can be considered vegan. We don't do any testing on animals or use any products from animals in any of our products. All the hair in our brushes is synthetic.

Can I use mascara with extensions?

We recommend trying to avoid putting any products directly on the extensions to maintain lash retention. But if you feel you need to we recommend a oil free mascara such as Grande Cosmetics.

What is microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent eyebrow tattoo that can fill in or create a whole new brow shape with hairlike strokes.

How does it work?

A sterile hand-held microblade pen is used to create individual hair-like strokes while depositing pigment into the skin. This allows the ability to create a natural 3D brow effect.  A topical anesthetic is used for comfort and pigment is color matched to each client’s natural brow hair color and skin tone to add immense life-like detail.

How is the shape of the brow decided?

Each client begins their appointment session having their brows mapped, measured, drawn and analyzed to work with facial structures and brow bone features to help create the perfect brow for your facial shape and desire.

How long does it last?

Typical permanent makeup eyebrows will last anywhere from 1 to 3 years with the microblading technique, depending on skin type and products used on the brow area.  Annual touch ups are encouraged to keep your brows looking fresh!

Is it just one appointment?

There is an initial 30 minute consultation so you can meet with your technician to ask questions and to have them assess your brows. You then have you 1st and main microblading session.  There is then a 6-8 week touchup that is required for all Microblading Services to complete Brows. If past the 8 week mark, additional fees will apply.

Is there anyone who should not get microblading?

This service cannot be performed on anyone who is under 18 years old, pregnant, breastfeeding, sunburned, taking Accutane, undergoing cancer treatments, gets keloid scars, or has had Botox injections within 2 weeks of the appointment. Please note that no one under the age of 18 is allowed in the treatment room. Bringing multiple guests to your appointment is highly discouraged.

How do I prepare for microblading?

A few things to note before your appointment; no alcohol 24 hours before, no Botox within the last 2-3 weeks, no sunburns, no chemical peels within the last 2-3 weeks. Avoid brow waxing 1 week before appointment.

What is the aftercare?

Your technician will provide in-depth verbal and written aftercare at the time of your appointment. The first 2 weeks are the most important, avoid sweating, public pools, saunas and hot tubs. No tanning or direct sunlight on the brow area. Refrain from waxing, Botox and using makeup on brows.  We do not recommend getting them overly wet in the shower, you can still shower but must be careful around brow area.

**It takes a total of 6 full weeks to heal before a touch up session, however after the first 14 days, the brows will be healed!**

What is sugaring?

It is an all natural hair removal service, where a special sugar paste made up of simply sugar, lemon and water, is applied and removed using a similar technique as waxing.

 Does it hurt?

It is a form of hair removal so there is a level of discomfort, similar, if not less than waxing. The sugar paste doesn’t remove the top layer of skin which will help reduce the skins sensitivity and irritation post service.

How does it work?

The sugar paste is applied first in the opposite direction of hair growth using the hands (no need for wax sticks or strips) and then flicked off in the direction of hair growth. This technique helps reduce irritation that may occur with traditional waxing. Sugaring paste is easily heated to the temperature of your body, so burns and irritation are greatly reduced.

How long does my body hair need to be?

We recommend your hair being at least as long as a grain of rice.

How often should I get sugared and do the results last long?

This is very much dependent on your hairs natural growth cycle. Over time with regular sugaring regrowth will behind to diminish.
